A Well Spent Saturday

Today I -

Thrifted for two hours with my sister.
Took a long, cozy afternoon nap.
Read a magazine on the couch.
Took a few new shop photos.
Drove to town with Owen to get coffee and a juice (^ I got the carrot, apple, ginger, beet).
Walked by the lake for five minutes until the freezing cold temps forced us back into our cozy home.
Listened to Oh Wonder "Without You" on repeat.
Went for a wine and cereal run to the grocery store.
Searched for a new home since we are moving out of our house soon (crossing our fingers an appointment tomorrow goes well).
Wished that it was spring already, goshdarnit.

How about you? Happy weekend everyone : )

Favorite Podcast Episodes

Throughout the past couple years I have become an avid podcast listener. It's such a great way to stay entertained, learn new things or get inspired, all while you are working, going for a run or traveling. I figured I would compile a list of my favorite episodes from my favorite podcasts in case you were looking to check out something new. Many of these I have listened to a few times over and contain a wealth of valuable information. I am always looking for new podcasts to check out, so leave a comment below if you have any favorites for me! Happy listening : )

Style Files : Rainbow

As I was browsing through my Pinterest Style board this week, I realized that a good amount of the photos centered around a rainbow color scheme. Even favorite photos I had snapped at NYFW this fall (photo above and patchwork dress below) had a rainbow theme. I just love how vibrant and statement-making a colorful piece can be, especially when paired with black or white. It gives off a confident, fun and unique vibe - just the kind I like ; )

I especially love rainbow when it comes to vintage items, as you'll be able to see in my shop often. They have such a great retro feel to them, whether its bright colors or pastel. Below is a collection of some rad rainbow vintage from a few of my favorite fellow vintage shops on Etsy. Enjoy!

Making Maple Syrup

We are back in Vermont after spending a fun weekend with family in New York. We stayed with Owen's parents, who make a ton of maple syrup every year that they give out as (very welcome) gifts. Its the first time I've gotten a chance to see how they do it, and it was so fun to see the process! My mom, along with Owen's sister and family, came over for the afternoon as well. Even though it was pretty chilly, it was toasty by the fire, and everyone had a great time hanging out watching the sap boil, drinking beer and roasting hot dogs. Now that I am back in snowy Vermont and looking at these photos I have spring fever! Hope your weekend was just as fun.

Free Printable Vintage Shopping List

Happy Friday guys! This is a quick post to tell you I've created a fun printable Vintage Shopping List available to download and put to good use! As an avid vintage shopper I've often noticed that when I get to the store, or especially when I'm considering a piece of clothing online, I have to retake my measurements over and over again. I always think I will remember them but I usually don't! I also thought it would be helpful, as I am trying to create a more mindful and minimal wardrobe (great description here), to write down the exact style I am going for, and which pieces I am really in need of. Voila, I typed a list out for myself, and now I am sharing it with you!

To have a printable list sent straight to your inbox, simply sign up for the OldSchoolSwank newsletter here or in the link on the sidebar. Happy vintage hunting!

Chloé Fall 2016 Collection

IN LOVE with the new fall collection Chloé showed at Paris Fashion Week yesterday. It was inspired by Anne-France Dautheville, a female motorcyclist who rode around the world in the 1970s, and her "rebel spirit". The mix of bohemian feminine florals with the leather and all black ensembles is just perfect! Here are a few of my favorites, but you can check the rest out here,
