ChloƩ Fall 2016 Collection

IN LOVE with the new fall collection ChloƩ showed at Paris Fashion Week yesterday. It was inspired by Anne-France Dautheville, a female motorcyclist who rode around the world in the 1970s, and her "rebel spirit". The mix of bohemian feminine florals with the leather and all black ensembles is just perfect! Here are a few of my favorites, but you can check the rest out here,

Vintage Style Icon : Colleen Corby

Colleen Corby is a fashion model best known for her work as a teen in the sixties and seventies. She modeled in many magazines and fashion ads, as well as department store catalogs (such as JCPenneys). Colleen was a staple in Seventeen magazine in the sixties, becoming somewhat of an icon for American teenage girls. After starting research on Colleen, I realized she was in many of my favorite vintage fashion images I had saved already. She has a great casual, confident way of pulling off outfits that makes many of the vintage clothes she wears look fashionable even today. And adorable hairdos! If you'd like to check out more of her modeling photos, I have a board on my Pinterest dedicated to Colleen.

Coach 1941 Fall '16 Collection

I finally got a chance to catch up on all the New York Fashion Week shows today, and am so happy I did. I always love seeing what amazing collections come out of all the craziness during the shows each fall and spring. The clothing and the energy of the events give me inspiration for my vintage hunt in a different way than anything else does. I was in New York this fall to soak in some inspiration, and I wish I could have made a trip down for this one too. The collection that has been my favorite so far is Coach 1941. The skirts, the plaids, the patchworks blouses; everything! I've shared some of my favorites, but you can check the full show out, and the rest of the designers' collections, HERE.

Vintage Style Icon : Jane Birkin

If I were to pick one vintage style icon that embodied my vision for OldSchoolSwank's style, it would have to be Jane Birkin. Her seemingly effortless outfits are always fairly simple, with one or two unique elements that help her to stand out from the crowd. Even her maternity clothes are rad! I've categorized my three favorite go-to looks of hers below, enjoy!

Fitted Tees & Jeans

Mini-dresses

OldSchoolSwank January Inspiration

Happy new year guys! I, for one, am so excited for the beginning of 2016 and the start of a new chapter. With each new year I am less drawn towards actual strict resolutions for myself, but more towards the idea of a fresh start with excitement about changes for the better. 2015 was an amazing year, which brought about huge changes in both my life and my husband's, and I am happy with where we are at starting out this new one.

Each month I will be bringing you an inspiration post featuring a mood board for OldSchoolSwank's upcoming vintage collection. For January I am leaning towards darker colors, feminine silhouettes, stripes (always) and athletic inspired pieces. Also adding more children's items, because how can I resist when they are just so cute?

What are your goals for this new year? Thanks for being here : )

Phew, it has been a bit since I've posted huh? Does anyone else feel like fall keeps them extra super busy? Back at it though folks so don't give up on me yet. Since the entire shop is 25% off right now for our Fall Sale (!!), I figured I would gather a little fall inspiration from two of my favorite bloggers, Sydney and Mary, and do a vintage inspiration post with some of my favorite items. Hope your week is going great!
