Phew, it has been a bit since I've posted huh? Does anyone else feel like fall keeps them extra super busy? Back at it though folks so don't give up on me yet. Since the entire shop is 25% off right now for our Fall Sale (!!), I figured I would gather a little fall inspiration from two of my favorite bloggers, Sydney and Mary, and do a vintage inspiration post with some of my favorite items. Hope your week is going great!

Wore : Vintage Denim Bows Top

Yesterday I wore my new favorite vintage top I got from The Getup Vintage in Montpelier (if you remember from this post). I am getting excited for fall guys. Falling leaves, boots, soccer, carving pumpkins, sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, plaid shirts, cute hats, hikes, apple picking, crisp mornings, the new fall T.V. lineup, football, new beginnings. Isn't it the best? What's your favorite part of the autumn season?

Roundup : My Favorite Vintage For Fall

Can you believe we are nearing the end of August? This summer has flown by. I have to admit that even though I love the rest of summer, August and September are my favorite months. They have such a relaxed vibe to them and the anticipation of new things is in the air. I maybe can do without this insane heat wave, as I am sitting here sweating to death even though a box fan set on high is a foot away from my face.

One of my favorite things about August is anticipating what my fall wardrobe will be. I am not in school anymore, nor do I have a traditional job I go to every day where I need to get dressed, but I still love imagining the new pieces I will add each year. Especially when I buy the "September Issue" of Vogue (right?!).

I put together a little roundup of some of my favorite vintage items I want to get for fall, from a few of the raddest vintage shops on Etsy. Enjoy!

Introducing OldSchoolSwank Bandana Scarves

I am so excited to announce that today I will be launching a line of hand sewn bandana scarves in my shop. I have been working on this idea for a while now, and am so happy with how it came together. The scarves are made in both vintage and new fabrics, focusing on retro style prints. Each one features the new "OldSchoolSwank" logo printed on a small white tag on one side. They are perfect for the fall transition time paired with a simple tee or a leather jacket (see below for some styling ideas). I will continue to post new styles/fabrics as I source them, so check back to see whats new!

You can find them HERE starting this afternoon.

Favorite Etsy Finds : Easy Breezy Summer

My parents put their boat in the water this week, which is always the first sign of summer for us. Being out on the clear blue lake with the green landscape surrounding us got me inspired to do a roundup of crisp, easy breezy items from some of my favorite Etsy designers. I could wear that scarf every day! Happy Thursday everyone : )

Favorite Etsy Finds : Retro Kitchen Edition

One vintage category I am a sucker for is bright, retro kitchen items. The shades of blue, green and orange, especially if they are contrasted with white, are my absolute favorite. I gathered some of my favorite kitchen finds around Etsy today from some great vintage shops. Enjoy!

OldSchoolSwank Website Launch

Its been a busy couple of weeks around here. Between more restaurant shifts than usual, visits from high school friends, and lots of work projects it seems like time has flown by! We got back last night from a weekend in Albany, NY for Owen's sister's baby shower (pics coming soon ; )), and it feels great to be home and able to dive into some new projects. Which brings me to an exciting announcement -

The OldSchoolSwank online vintage boutique is up and running! I have spent the past few weeks putting a lot of work into it, and am so excited to share it with everyone. It has a long way to go, but you can now easily shop vintage on a different platform. This site will not replace my Etsy shop (I love Etsy!), but rather will serve as another place shoppers can go to browse items in a different way and get a better feel for the OldSchoolSwank brand.

Please check it out and let me know what you think, and stay tuned for many fun updates coming up!

Shop Talk

Editing photos and watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Just a normal Friday : )
Organizing inventory
Pretty hangers my mom found for me that came in a variety of pastel colors. So special feeling!
Some of my fashion design / sewing / crafting book collection. Oh and a vintage Cats book too.
I organized my shipping area a little more today, trying to get the process as streamlined as possible. My brother and dad made me the white wooden tape box for Christmas and its awesome. Still trying to find that perfect corner table though...
I hope you all have a great weekend and a fun Valentines Day!

Tuesday Inspiration (on a Monday) : Faux Fur

1 2 3 4
As promised in my last post, my inspiration this week came from these lovely ladies wearing their faux fur. Such a great, statement-making look for winter, and it can be dressed up or down depending on your mood.

Check out a vintage option here!

Tuesday Inspiration : Mexican Embroidery

I am obsessing over Mexican embroidery lately, especially in home goods. I mean, how cool is that throw pillow? I might try to make my own version later tonight, as we are about to be snowed in for a day or two.

Ugly-but-Awesome Christmas Sweater

I picked up this JCrew holiday sweater at the thrift shop last month, and I love it. It's got the right amount of Christmas corniness but in a mellow, wearable way. So here are a few pictures of me freezing my booty off on the porch, why is Vermont so COLD?!

Looking for options for your upcoming ugly Christmas sweater party? Check out this, this and this ; )
